The evolution of SCM

The evolution of SCM

Abstract

This paper describes the history, present and future of Supply Chain Management (SCM). It starts with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP), via Finite Capacity Scheduling (FCS) and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) systems, discussing the pros and cons of each for manufacturers currently seeking one of these types of products.

Finally, it then philosophies about the future of SCM, SCM II as we like to call it. And how even today you can provide a clear path forward for your business by selecting a solution that allows growth and adaptation of your solution.

It goes without saying that we wholeheartedly believe Wahupa SCM can clear this path for you. But we'll let you be the judge of that: contact us if you want to know what we can do for you!
